The North County Women’s Shelter provides women and their children with a safe, confidential space for healing and recovery. Case managers can also make safe arrangements for male victims and their children suffering from domestic violence. Families who live in the shelter receive personalized care and advocacy during their stay. Caring, trained staff members strive to meet every family’s needs during times of fear and uncertainty. During their stay in the North County Women’s Shelter, residents participate in a comprehensive trauma management routine that incorporates multiple aspects of a successful recovery including: intensive counseling, support groups, case management, legal advocacy, and provision of basic human needs like food and clothing. Case Managers evaluate each victim’s circumstances and discuss shelter rules and dynamics on a case by case basis. Referrals and case management are offered to every victim, even those who do not stay in the shelter. Services are available to all victims, without regard to race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, age, or disability. If you or someone you love is in need of shelter from abuse in San Luis Obispo County, please call our crisis managers at (805) 461-1338. |
