The Women’s Shelter board formed Friends in 2002 as an auxiliary fundraising committee. Comprised of past board members, current board members, and philanthropic members of the community, Friends is in charge of all major fundraisers for the agency. The group puts on many successful events including the agency’s major annual event. Friends is a very important asset to the Women’s Shelter, as it is responsible for earning much of the mandatory matching funds required by most grantors. The North County Women’s Shelter is always looking for excited individuals interested in planning and facilitating our vital fundraisers. If you would like to make a difference in the community by volunteering your time and expertise as a member of Friends, please contact the Women’s Shelter business office. |
